How to Determine When to Begin Collecting Social Security

65 has been considered the ideal retirement age for many years, however, this number is shifting. These days, a large number of Americans are working well past the age of 65.

This is not a bad thing! Longer life expectancies allow us to stay in the workforce, which also means we can delay taking Social Security benefits.

The longer you can hold off collecting Social Security benefits, the more you will receive in monthly benefits (up to age 70).

It is important to note your "full retirement age" is unique to you and your lifestyle.
