June 13, 2014

We’re officially half-way through 2014! It’s hard to believe how fast time flies - another school year is wrapping up and summer is upon us.   The enticing fun and sun of summer, although enjoyable, can make it even more challenging to stay focused on the goals we’ve set earlier in the year. It’s a time for a reflection of the first six months of the year, plan for the next six and finish this year stronger than you started.

We will continue to hold calls and have premier investment specialists share their viewpoint on the market to keep you informed of the current conditions and opportunities. Instead of doing this quarterly as I have done in the past, I will begin to hold them semi-annually with the expectation that I will have additional calls based on current market conditions and current events as needed.  Information about our next call will be provided very soon.

I just completed a series of “Money Smart Workshops for Women” that was very well received. We discussed topics such as “Simple Steps to Creating Financial Security” and “Keys to getting Unstuck and Moving Forward”. The events were such a success I plan to host another series in the Fall. More details to follow.

Batter Up!!! The San Rafael Pacific’s professional baseball team celebrates their third season and Alpha Wealth Management will be hosting a summer BBQ at a game on August 5th. Bring your whole family to enjoy this unique experience.  One lucky winner will be able to throw out the first pitch! Keep your eyes open for save the date details coming soon.

In 2013, I had the great opportunity to go to San Diego to LPL’s National Conference, by far the most impressive conference I ever attended. I plan to attend the annual “Focus” conference again this year in August.  I will have the chance to connect with industry leaders, LPL executives and my peers to obtain valuable insights, gain actionable knowledge and discover new innovations from LPL. I look forward to sharing my findings with you when we talk or meet next.

I will be out of the office from June 23 returning July 8. If you need assistance during my absence, please contact my office. Janice will make sure your requests for appointments, money movement, trades or other requests will be taken care of.

 On a Personal Note:

Kaitlyn and Isabella are almost done with spring basketball after playing CYO basketball this winter. Soccer is in full swing for both and they are gearing up for a fun fall season. The summer plans to be filled with vacations, camping, sports camps and 2 weeks with the grandparents in LA! Jen and I continue to enjoy watching the kids play sports and our weekend getaways to Tahoe, Napa or Paso Robles. Our special treat this summer will be an extended trip to South American where we will attend a World Cup soccer game in Brazil, visit the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. We will have lots of pictures to share on Facebook. (

Technology Update! LPL has rolled out a new client website Account View and is continuing with updates throughout the summer.  Completely redesigned and accessible from any computer, tablet or smartphone, clients can navigate through accounts, transactions and statements, go paperless with e0Delivery and download information to Quicken. Please call or stop by the office if you have any questions about the new website.

Here are some “apps” that I would like to share with you.

·         TED – Truly one of my favorite apps! It’s a great source of education and inspiration. I can watch recorded talks from some of the most fascinating speakers in the world all from this app. What’s even more impressive is that I can choose how much time I have and browse videos based on time, topic, and what I’m looking to get out of the material.

·         Dropbox – Fantastic for sharing files with others. This app lets me bring all my photos, documents, and videos anywhere and allows me to share them easily. All in all, the easiest file sharing app out there. Ideal for people who travel and need access to something right away.

·         Flipboard – This app makes it easy and fun to access the social news you want. And the best part is you can tailor it to fit your own interests! It’s basically a virtual magazine built for you – and it saves you time from having to browse through several publications just to read the few things you’re looking for.

Alpha Blog: If you haven’t seen it yet, please check out our blog. We are frequently updating, providing opinions, information and links to interesting content online.

My goal is to build my practice through referrals from clients like you. Most people prefer to choose a financial advisor through a recommendation from someone they know. Thank you in advance for making a referral and a difference.
